U17's | Avoca 36 - Gosford 5
" This week, to say the U17’s were are little “Blue” is an understatement. We just could not find our rhythm and spent 25 minutes out of the first 30 in our half defending our goal line. We went to the break 5-10 with Avoca in front, however, the boys were extremely fatigued from all the hard defence and on top of that, we lost our fullback to the Blue Card.
The second half was much the same as the first, and the toll on the boys really took effect. Another two players were shown the Blue Card and our confidence wavered. What was excellent was our ability to defend our try line and the boys resilience as our injury toll mounted. By the time the final whistle was blown, we had 3 forwards playing in the backs and no bench.
This week, we will take time to regather our thoughts, spend some time reviewing our performance get the job done next game.
Best on park was Casey, Ben and Millar; Final Score Gosford 5- Avoca 36" Steve Keiler

U7's | "This week was one of the most pleasing performances by our littlest Devils! They all worked so well as a team, and their drive to keep pushing was phenomenal. Our player of the day, Zoe, lead the charge defensively and ran great lines with ball in hand. All in all another great game from the future of our amazing club." Karl Verheof
U8's | " The under 8s made the long journey to Slade Park worth it for all the parents and supporters of the GRU with a commanding performance. The entire team pitched in with superb defence and exhilarating attacking forays. We played two halves against each of the Northlakes teams and came out in front, over all, 7-1. Well done team!" - Tony Willis
U9's | " The team headed out to Budgewoi to play against Northlakes this week. With a sub 10 degree morning and a field that almost resembled a swamp, we were off to a great start! Gosford tackled hard and had a number of strong runs. Special mention to Jake who played his best game yet!" - Thomas Finn
U11's | "The 11’s encountered a much improved Woy Woy team having to work extremely hard for a 27-15 victory. Dylan Witcher was a standout scoring two tries closely followed by Oberon Huntley and Zane Cash. I would like to give a quick shout out to the mums, dads , grandparents and significant others that continue to support our boys, your support and enthusiasm for the boys rugby is fantastic." - Mal Spinks
